Camera help.
|
I need help finding a camera. Im pretty new and my birthday is coming up so I thought I might get a good camera and start making wallpapers.
Whats a good camera to start out with that still takes good enough quality pictures for about 1600x1200 wallpapers?
I don't really want to spend much over $200. I just want like basic one and then maybe if I get really into it buy a SLR one.

dslr's are the tits my friend, but they are all pretty much above your price point. Canon makes some nice point and shoot camera's they are all pretty comparable.
you don't really need a camera to make walls though, come up with a better reason before you blow your wad.

Sorry, but what the hell?
Pedobear needs help with his camera, and SirWonkus describes DSLRs as 'the tits'.
Ohhh dear.

I am using a great camera wich has all the features you could think of. -movements- -Recorder (for voice) very good quality AND about 12 hours of recordings available -Video camera (double zoom, analogic and numeric) -Several options for pictures including pets and frames! Very good pictures quality 7.1 Million Pixel -3 times optical zoom High sensitivity of ISO 3200 Powerful flash (very good actually) 2.5 inch LCD and very light!
PS: Its the best camera I have ever had! But MAKE SURE that you have an 1GB SD card.
Forgot the main part!: It is an Optio M30 by Pentax. I really recomend it to you!

I'll check out that Pentax but..
Since its christmas soon I'm looking for a camera again. I'd actually spend up til like $400 though instead of about $200 so I could probably get a good one. Probably not SLR though because they cost way too much and I'm sort of a beginner..
So... still looking for more suggestions.

Protip: No matter how much you spend on a camera if you're a shitty photographer you'll take shitty pictures.

How'd you know!?
lol I just have the pedobear as my avatar because it looks cool.
And I know if you're a bad photographer you'll take bad pictures but if I do learn how to take really good pictures (not that I can't take somewhat good pictures now) they'll come out good.

I'm sure was just offering a bit of friendly advice. Sometimes people jump in too deep, spending hundreds of pounds/dollars on a really good camera to discover their photos aren't actually getting much better. =)

You should just get a basic point and shoot to start out with, or maybe an advanced point and shoot. I've been photographing for a year or so (you can see my artsy photos at http://ankom.deviantart.com ) and I still use an advanced point that has the ability to process in RAW - FujifilmS5200 about 250 bucks.

Yeah I've been looking at a lot of advanced point and shoot ones. I really like your gallery though.
